TRIP: International Towers Sydney's Upgraded End-of-Trip Facility
International Towers Sydney has opened TRIP, an upgraded end-of-trip facility that represents a significant advancement in sustainable workplace amenities at Barangaroo.
The premium facility - designed to help users Thrive, Refresh, Invigorate mind and body, or simply Pause before their next destination - demonstrates the precinct's ongoing commitment to environmental leadership and employee wellbeing.
An Inclusive Space for Every Journey
No longer a space only serving the needs of bike riders and exercisers alone, TRIP is an inclusive facility for all to share and enjoy, no matter the journey or destination. Whether preparing for an important work presentation, freshening up after a workout, getting ready for an evening event, or simply needing a moment to reset during the day, TRIP provides a premium environment designed for diverse needs.
Upgraded facilities include -
- Expansive changerooms with showers, towel service, grooming stations with the latest hair styling tools from Dyson, ironing stations and drying rooms
- Upgraded smart lockers
- Intelligent wayfinding that eliminates guesswork by displaying real-time shower and locker availability upon entry
- Private shower suites with increased space and privacy
- Stretch lounges for pre/post-workout stretching
- Bike parking with dedicated areas for e-bikes and cargo bikes (e-bike and cargo bike parking available upon completion of stage two construction)
Where Art Meets Function
The facilities feature premium fixtures and fittings, with colours and textures taking inspiration from Australian native flora such as Kangaroo Paw, Golden Wattle, Blue Gum, and Grey Ironbark. The result is a carefully considered interplay of polished stone, warm timber tones, earthy terracotta, sage greens, and cool grey textures that evoke the natural environment.
A distinctive feature of TRIP is the bespoke bronze water fountains created by Australian sculptor Morgan Shimeld. Inspired by the original sandstone quarry on which Barangaroo was built, the fountain's rich bronze patina echoes the warm hues of Sydney's iconic sandstone. Symbolising water's vital role in life and growth, Shimeld's work transforms a functional object into a timeless sculptural point of connection within the facility.
Sustainability in Practice
TRIP advances International Towers Sydney's sustainability objectives through the removal of fossil fuel-based domestic hot water services, replacing them with electric systems.
The project targets a 6-star Green Star rating and incorporates circular economy principles throughout. During construction, existing bike racks were donated to St George Community Housing, hair styling tools were donated to ReLove in support of women and children impacted by domestic violence, and unclaimed bicycles were refurbished through a partnership with Revolve reCycling for distribution to children in remote Northern Territory communities.
Community Partnerships
TRIP incorporates partnerships with purpose-driven organisations that align with International Towers Sydney's values, including -
Blackroo Vending Machines - These vending machines stock products from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned enterprises, channelling everyday workplace purchases into direct economic support for Indigenous businesses.
Two Good Co - The automatic soap and body wash dispensers throughout TRIP are supplied by Two Good Co, a social enterprise that employs women with lived experience of homelessness and domestic violence. Every handwash supports job creation and skills training that helps vulnerable women rebuild their lives and achieve economic independence.
PIXII Sanitary Products - Free menstrual products in all female changerooms and accessible bathrooms address period poverty and ensures menstrual health doesn't become a workplace barrier.
Staged Opening
Upgraded facilities on the south side are currently open for use to commercial customers across the Barangaroo precinct. North side construction is scheduled for completion in early 2027. Upon completion, the facilities will be the largest of their kind within a commercial building complex in the Southern Hemisphere.
