Foreshore Walk will be partially closed in front of Barangaroo South to enable essential construction activities from Monday 25 August 2014 to 30 June 2015.

Temporary Partial Closure of Foreshore Walk

22 August 2014 - Foreshore Walk will be partially closed in front of Barangaroo South to enable essential construction activities including sustainability works to take place.

This includes construction of a new 30 metre wide tree lined public promenade which will provide the missing link in the 14km foreshore walkway from Woolloomooloo to the Anzac Bridge.

Other construction activities to be undertaken in this area include:
  • Pipe work to allow harbour water to be used to cool the commercial buildings at Barangaroo South – saving up to 100 million litres of water from the Sydney Water mains network each yearonce fully operational;
  • Storage tanks to allow stormwater harvesting and re‐use; and
  • Installation of stabilisation piles for the wharf structure.

Closure Details

The closed section of walkway will start from the King Street Wharf entrance and extend for approximately 330 metres.

Access to the foreshore toilet facilities and gym equipment will remain in place via Hickson Road. Please note; there is no through access to King Street Wharf from this point. Signage and maps are in place to advise the local community of this closure and the alternative pedestrian route along Hickson Road.
