Lendlease Welcomes Dixon Hospitality to Barangaroo
Lendlease today announced the latest retail signing for the Barangaroo precinct, Dixon Hospitality.
2 May 2016 – Lendlease today announced the latest retail signing for the Barangaroo precinct, Dixon Hospitality. Dixon Hospitality has taken 1,300 square metres of space across two venues, choosing Barangaroo as their flagship location in NSW.
By the end of the year, the group will open a 1,000sqm contemporary bar and restaurant with a dessert kitchen, located in Tower One, International Towers Sydney. The group will also open a Cuban/art deco inspired rooftop bar located on top of the Durbach Block Jaggers designed boutique building.
Group Executive Chef, two-hat Justin Wise, is relocating to Sydney where he will ensure guests experience beautifully prepared, simple fresh produce from local and small suppliers where possible.
Head of Retail Development and Asset Management for Lendlease, Gary Horwitz said Dixon Hospitality is a perfect addition to the precinct, with a strong track record operating some 30 venues across NSW and Victoria.
“We are proud to be working with Dixon Hospitality Group, to bring not one, but two exciting new offerings to Barangaroo. These venues promise to be like nothing else on offer in the Sydney market, and we are confident that our 23,000 or so office workers, 1,500 residents, plus surrounding neighbours will embrace their new local restaurant and rooftop bar.”
“We currently have around 25 per cent of our retail open at Barangaroo, with the majority set to be up and running by the end of this year. We have already received fantastic feedback on Sydney’s favourite new food and beverage destination, and are thrilled to build on that sentiment with the two new venues by Dixon Hospitality.”
According to Dixon Hospitality CEO Bruce Dixon, the company has been assessing the Sydney landscape for some time now.
“Barangaroo is the perfect location for our flagship Sydney presence. The Barangaroo dining precinct will be world class and that is something we are committed to being part of,” said Mr Dixon.
“The restaurant will boast 270 degree water views via the floor to ceiling windows and is complemented by a feature bar area with dessert kitchen. It’s a concept more reminiscent of high-end New York destinations, where guests can enjoy cocktails with creations of our pastry chefs and relax late in the evening, we’re excited to offer that here in Sydney,” added Mr Dixon.
The venue will also include private function spaces for intimate dinners, large corporate and special occasion events.
The plans for the rooftop are particularly exciting, the green oasis will be reached via a tree lined external staircase (or internal lifts) and once at the top guests will be transported into a very sleek green rooftop zone with multiple bars, dining nooks and seating overlooking the water.
“We all know Sydney needs more spaces like this and the designs and vibe for this particular rooftop will have corporate workers eager to leave their offices and socialise in the green playground on view from many office windows. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Mr Dixon.
