Barangaroo welcomes renowned restauranteurs Brent Savage & Nick Hildebrandt

Sydney’s award-winning duo Brent Savage and Nick Hildebrandt are opening a new restaurant at Barangaroo.

1 February 2016 – The story of Australia’s landmark food and beverage destination continues with today’s announcement that Sydney’s award-winning duo Brent Savage and Nick Hildebrandt are opening a new restaurant at Barangaroo.

Due to open in September this year, the yet-to-be-named restaurant will be located in the beautiful Anadara building on the harbour front at Barangaroo. The iconic cloud shaped building developed by Lendlease was designed by FJMT’s Richard Francis-Jones and is currently home to Noma Australia for a ten-week residency.

Head of Retail Development and Asset Management for Lendlease, Gary Horwitz, said that Nick and Brent’s creation will be a fantastic addition to Australia’s most exciting new precinct.

“Lendlease creates the best places and ensuring we have the right retail mix is a vital component. We have carefully curated the food and beverage offering at Barangaroo so that people can experience the best local and global talent.

“We are thrilled to welcome award-winning restauranteurs, Brent and Nick, to our precinct. Sydney-siders are very familiar with their amazing restaurants Bentley, Monopole and Yellow, and we cannot wait for people to experience their exciting next chapter in this truly unique space.”

Savage and Hildebrandt said of their new venue at Barangaroo:

“We’ve long toyed with the idea of a seafood-focussed restaurant. Once we saw this site, we knew we could create something pretty special. We think there’s a real opportunity for an exciting restaurant on the harbour with a strong wine program and a menu that is centred around sustainable seafood – but that’s not all we’ll be doing. We’re already well into the design phase of the restaurant which will have a dining room that expands outside.”

Upon completion Barangaroo will be home to up to 90 retailers – mostly food and beverage – from the smallest laneway bars and cafes, to grand spaces on the harbour.
