Enter Stories in the Sky – Children’s Artwork Competition

December 2021 to January 2022

We would like to invite young people aged from 5 to 16 from our local community and surrounds to enter our Stories in the Sky artwork competition. Three winners will have their artwork displayed on the side of one of our residential buildings during construction.

Stories in the Sky is a series of artworks created by the community, for the community which tell the story of Barangaroo, the Cammeraygal woman our precinct is named after and the connection to water, land and sky.

The artwork activation started on Residences One in late 2020 with entries submitted by students from Guardian Education Centre, La Perouse Public School and Greater Sydney High Schools. Lendlease worked with local educational organisations to share information about Barangaroo the woman and the exciting things happening at Barangaroo South. The students used this as inspiration to create their artworks and stories.

The winning artworks were all reinterpreted into 6 metre wide stencils and spray painted onto the side of the building by our construction team. So far, we’ve seen fish, turtles, native wildlife, insects and plants on the side of Residences One and Two.

The stencils were produced by Supply Nation certified provider, Yamari Ochre Signs. View the previous winning designs.
